Being ambitious is it good for startups
This looks too generic talk which you would have been receiving the gyan from all the people who are elder to you and who have some experience with them. There is saying people are there to give advices and its true on this statement. Every one will give that word of caution when you are starting up.
Lets analyze this statement in reality of a startup. How this statement needs to be taken by entrepreneurs.
Being ambitious in setting up goals for sales team, well we all know sales team has to bring in revenue if the startup has to be alive, but when you are setting targets lets see what happens by being ambitious. In the process of giving some numbers and showing good growing graphs and talking ambitious and pumping up the sales team is all good. But ground reality should also be considered.
Being ambitious in making product to enter market, every entrepreneur who is about to launch his product’s entry to market in the process of doing becomes bit ambitious and expects people to do work at pace he wants. But in reality it does not happen for example entrepreneurs expect a product to be launched without bugs, but it does not happen that way as human is to err and there will be some short fall.
What happens when these kind of scenario happen with you as entrepreneur is you become frustrated and start losing faith and blaming all these comes in to picture which ensure that you start losing confidence in what you started. Remember people who are working with you don’t think the way you think and they are just helping you realize your dream.
Always have realistic and achievable goals so that you have clear mindset that you will take a particular time for delivery and you stay focused keeping that time in mind.
